After leaving Montevideo we set sail for Cape Verde Islands. We will arrive in Mindelo, Sao Vicente Island after 9 days at sea (Feb. 24, 2022). We were kept very busy with a variety of lectures, craft time, movies, a county fair, ship tours, live music every evening, and anything else one could think of doing. There were plenty of wine tastings and contests such as corn hole and trivia (Remember it's only a Game). Plus a variety of themed meals with decorations and tasty drinks. There were days that included more things we wanted to do but not enough time. We did take time to relax as well.
I decided this week was the perfect time to highlight this beautiful ship.
We generally start our days with a trip to the fitness center where we use the treadmills and the weight resistance equipment. It is a wonderful place to workout and to keep in shape.
Of course, we had to have breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. There are a variety of places to eat. The Restaurant serves all three meals and is set up as a real restaurant with menus, wait staff, hostess, and a wide selection of foods. We generally eat dinner there and sometimes a breakfast or lunch if they are serving something we could not get in the other venues. All three meals are also available in the World Cafe. Like a cafeteria, you can select the items you want from the different stations: Cold/Salads, Hot Foods, Bread/Rolls, Specialty Items, and Desserts. I cannot believe all they have. Wait staff is there for drinks, resetting tables, answering questions, and they even may go get a special item. Also for lunch and at times cookouts for dinner is the Pool Lounge. Serving hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, and a variety of salads. Available to us are the reservation only restaurants: Manfredi's and The Chef's Table. We love Manfredi's for its Italian themed foods. The best risotto ever! The Chef's Table is an avant garde themed restaurant serving a set themed menu with wines. We have been to the two Asian themed and they were good but not our type of restaurant.
